Wayzata

Located at the northeast tip of Lake Minnetonka, just 12 miles from downtown Minneapolis, the community rests upon the scenic Wayzata Bay. Wayzata is not a large community, with a population of 4,000 but takes pride in its beauty with all it nieghborhoods and shoreline.

Wayzata is the center of a sizable and growing trade area of some 30,000 people, which includes the lakeshore communities to the west and part of the cities of Plymouth on the north and Minnetonka to the east.  Wayzata has also provided this area with a retail center that features dozens of high-quality specialty shops and many other fine businesses located along the lakefront.

Amenities

Shopping: Wayzata is the hub for Lake Minnetonka shopping.  Alishops.com has this to say about the unique and beautiful setting Wayzata brings:

When there's no time for a Palm Beach getaway, an afternoon strolling this waterfront downtown will transport you. It has a look and attitude entirely distinct from the rest of the Twin Cities: Nautical, rich and blonde. Accordingly, the independent shops are expensive and mostly tailored to ladies who lunch…with a miniature poodle peeking out of the Louis Vuitton bag at their Gucci loafer-clad feet. For a reality check, there's Chico's, Talbot's and Acorn. And if that doesn't do it for you either, remember: Views of the lake are free.

Lake Front Restaurants:

Wayzata is home to several great lake front restaurants to enjoy a view of the lake, great food and drinks.  Some of the restaurants have docks for easy access, or use the ones provided by the city of Wayzata and walk.
